Sunday Reset #8: You Don’t Need Their Signature
Share
Good morning ☀️
Girl, depending on what time you're reading this, pour yourself some coffee or a cocktail. The Reset is running a little late today, and honestly, I'm sorry about that. But it also feels about right for what I want to talk about.
Something hit me this week.
I was holding my own bag, turning it over the way I've done a hundred times, when my eyes landed on the small metal plate at the bottom right corner.
Now Carry On. Raised gold script. I had put it there months ago. I knew it was a signature when I placed it. I just didn't fully feel the weight of what I was signing until this week.
Most luxury bags put their logos right in the center. Between the handles. Or repeated all over the bag like wallpaper. The logo is the billboard. It tells you what brand you're holding. It sells.
But I never wanted the bag to be a Cycely billboard. I didn't want a Cycely bag. I wanted a life bag. Something that carried a philosophy. A quiet reminder that whatever life places in your hands, you still get to decide what comes next.
So when I put Now Carry On in the bottom right corner, the place an artist signs a painting, I wasn't signing my name. I wasn't even signing the brand.
I was signing her next step.
Every woman who picks up the bag and looks at that corner gets the same quiet message.
Now carry on.
Not Cycely made this. You. Now carry on.
The signature isn't about me. It's about what comes next for her. The hard conversation she just had. The decision she's been avoiding. The boundary she's tired of explaining. The text she keeps rereading instead of just hitting send.
Three words signed at the corner of her life.
This week's reset:
Sign your own corner.
Whatever you're carrying right now, sign it. Decide where you stand. Put your name at the bottom right of your own life and move.
The Pocket Watcher wants you to keep editing. To wait until it's perfect. To keep asking other people to sign off on your story like it's a contract that requires their notary stamp.
Girl. No.
She doesn't get a vote.
You sign it.
Now carry on.
Sunday Reset.
Carry on.
P.S. I knew the plate was a signature when I placed it. What I didn't know was the weight of what I was signing. Sometimes you build something true before you fully feel what you built. And then one day you turn it over in your hands and the weight arrives. 🤎
