From Mail Carrier to Founder

I didn’t create this bag. Life did.

I’m a woman who has carried a lot. A career. A family. A vision. And somewhere in between all of it, I learned the hard way that the woman doing the most carrying is often the last one anyone thinks to protect.

I was learning to set boundaries, give myself grace and hold myself accountable, and I wanted a way to express those lessons in a language I already loved: fashion. Something bold enough to start a conversation, but personal enough to mean something to the woman carrying it.

I’ve always been this woman.

Years ago, when my children were young, I founded S.P.E.A.K. Magazine, a publication for teens that was really a love letter from the mother I was becoming. Every word was rooted in the truths I was quietly learning myself.

Then life shifted. The kids grew up. And for the first time in a long time, I had room to ask a different question:

What do I need?

I’ve also always loved fashion.

So I thought, why carry your boundaries in silence when you can carry them in style?

That’s how The Pocket Watcher™ was born.

A statement bag that says what a lot of us feel but don’t always say out loud. A boundary you can carry. A conversation starter designed to make you think, laugh, reflect and maybe even get a little uncomfortable.

MY MONEY IS IN YOUR POCKET.
You only have a say if you pay.

That kind of honesty has always been part of who I am. Even as an introvert, I’ve never been afraid to say what I feel. I create what I need, and then I share it with the world.

For 27 years, I’ve carried things for other people as a USPS letter carrier on the streets of Chicago. Through rain, snow and heat, I showed up.

Now Carry On™ is what I built while I was carrying everyone else’s.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t simply creating handbags.

I was creating Luxury of the Mind™.

Now Carry On™ is a five-chapter journey through stages of growth so many women know intimately: financial boundaries, emotional discipline, releasing what no longer serves us, healing, and finally arriving at joy.

And that philosophy doesn’t have to live only on a handbag.

It can live in what we read on a Sunday morning. In what we write down when we’re trying to understand ourselves. In the things we wear, carry, keep close and come back to when life gets loud.

Now Carry On™ is about what we carry, what we put down, and what we choose to carry forward.

The bags are conversation starters. The words are reminders. And every chapter reflects a place many of us have been, or may still be working our way through.

I’m just making the conversation fashionable.
